alifedotowsky I found this little note in my closet while cleaning out the clutter and getting it ready to put our house on the market. It made me realize that you never know how a small kind gesture can impact someone’s life for years and even decades. . About 10 years ago when I was living in San Diego I was driving in my car with tears streaming down my face because there were multiple things in my life that didn’t feel right. I wasn’t in the right relationship, I didn’t have a job, and I just felt lost. While I was driving I saw a woman on the side of the road with a sign asking for money to get home. I stopped and handed her a few dollars and in return she handed me this piece of paper. I was so caught off guard by her giving me something back. But I took it, drove off, and then when I got home and parked my car I opened it up to see what it said... “May Your Heart Always Be Taken Care of” I remember breaking down in sobs right then and there because it’s exactly what I needed to read in that moment. I think about that woman a lot and how I thought that by pulling over her to give her a few dollars I was helping her but truly she helped me in more ways than she’ll ever know. So I hope for anybody who needs to see this today, maybe it can have some sort of impact for your life like it did for mine so many years ago ❤️ Your heart deserves to be taken care of. Well we recently organized & cleaned out our garage and while going through a bin of sentimental items I found this @Hallmark card that Kevin gave me 2.5 years ago when we moved into our house. (Swipe to see the front of the card- this card seems MADE for him 😂) Anyway, I think I told you guys this when we moved but Kevin actually mailed this card to me at our new address so it was waiting for me in the mailbox the day we moved in. And a few weeks ago when I found it in the garage, I put it on the nightstand next to my bed so I can look at it every night before I go to bed & every morning when I wake up. Just cause we’re in the process of potentially moving again & I want to remember and soak in all of the amazing things that have happened here in this house. Especially when we leave it. Anyway, I’m sharing this story for two reasons. 1) I truly believe in the power of sending a card. Like I said, I work for @Hallmark I believe in it so much! (Btw, can’t wait to get back to work!) I have a whole shoebox full of cards I’ve saved over the years from special moments in my life. And I think during times like right now, sending a card to someone you care about could mean more to them than you even know. And 2) I think this would be really cute for anybody else to do who is moving into a new home! Mail your significant other or kids a card there so it’s in the mailbox waiting for them the day you move in. Do you guys have any cards that you’ve saved from love ones over the year? alifedotowsky I truly believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Molly wanted a rainbow birthday party. She asked for it out of the blue, so I went with it thinking about all the adorable pics we’d get with this cute theme 🌈 Last month, when I told you guys about my miscarriage, one of you (thank you Cheryl) said “Let yourself grieve and know there will be a rainbow. The rainbow could be a smile, a hug, or a kind gesture”. Molly’s birthday was just days before I had my miscarriage.
