allymaki 🤍 Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who made this quarantine birthday so beyond special. I can’t begin to describe the immense and intimate love I felt from friends and family everywhere. Even though we are socially distant I found myself crying laughing, bawling crying, dancing while crying lol and feeling all the things. This year has been so hard for everyone... through it all I’ve really been able to dig into new things that bring me happiness. Friends, family, simple joys. Uncovering these little happy nuggets has changed me forever. Sending every bit of love to you guys. stay safe and know that I’m thinking of each and every single one of you ✨

allymaki Being away from my dad this year has been really tough. We always enjoyed eating at different sushi bars during the holidays. We could eat sashimi platters on platters and never get full. My brothers and I knew that this year would be different and that we needed to do what we can to keep our parents safe at home. Last week, we surprised dad with a new tablet. He had never done a video call, so he was hesitant. But once it connected, the smile on his face when he saw his grandchildren playing on the screen was his biggest since the pandemic. He now calls it his magic device. ⁣ ⁣ 2020 has been a difficult year for us all and this holiday season, I am partnering with @AARP to encourage everyone to have a memorable and safe holiday season. Traditions may be on hold and gatherings may be fewer, but we can do our part to ensure that everyone remains safe, especially our elders. This year, my dad and I will be eating sushi over video.
