andreeadiddy We interviewed an ex trafficker to give you another side of the story. No one deserves to be locked up and forced into prostitution because they are poor. And having spoken to 19 year olds who decided to “come on their own” at 14 and a half — they either didn’t know what the “job” entailed and tried to back out or their peers guided them towards this path, again, they were locked up against their will and 14.
We blurred him because i’d like to put emphasis on clients from Germany, France, England, Holland etc. creating a demand for trafficking networks.
This is the epitome of men not respecting women, but it is pervasive and global.
With an economic recession approaching, an increase in trafficking in expected once borders reopen fully. Vocational training and preventative education are vital during this time. If you can donate to @opendoorfoundationromania link in bio, a donor will be matching every donation starting today up to 50k, so your donation will double.

andreeadiddy Open Door lawyers have won every case against trafficking networks this year (this is a tall order considering the sexism, racism and corruption in many courts). We need your help to continue!
@opendoorfoundationromania is raising funds for core operations and a farmstead that will give survivors in need of long term assistance (who have asked to work on a farm) a safe place to work, live and learn — all while improving ecosystem health through locally adapted conservation agricultural practices and education.
Traditional practices like crop rotation, crop cover and minimal tilling increase soil health & carbon drawdown while working and spending time in nature has been proven to be wonderfully beneficial to those suffering from intense PTSD.
Funds will go towards core operations, farmstead and preventative educational programs in vulnerable village sites.

andreeadiddy Another Romanian woman was raped. She went to the police to declare it, and the police decided her rapist needed to know that she was accusing him. The rapist had previously murdered 5 other people yet was free and the police thought she was at fault (what were you wearing? Did you smile?). Her rapist set her on fire when she returned home from a social center. Yesterday Romania passed a law making “gender education” illegal in any institution. This law promotes miseducation, sexism and domestic violence. I know the world is bombarded with all the wrongs at once, but we must apply international and national pressure on the president @klausiohannis parliament members and the culture industry needs to talk and address these toxic waters that are a reality in many countries. #egalitatedegen follow @girlup.romania and sign the petition. #niunamas
andreeadiddy I’ve had a few arguments with close friends about what essentially are semantics. I’m sure someone is making better graphs for this, I certainly feel uncomfortable saying #defundthepolice is not the most accurate name for this movement, but this video is why it has to be explained that defundthepolice does not mean defunding the entire police force. We need more members to support these initiatives that simply reallocate excess funding (currently used for ineffective measures & depts) into infrastructure and public institutions like schools, hospitals or libraries. This way root causes will be addressed rather than policed. It means shrinking the overbearing role of the police in our society. Right now the police is a helicopter parent punishing a child for crying when the food its being fed is provoking anaphylactic reactions. If parent has other parent/uncle/aunt/grandma to help out, they will realize that: 1) parent is endangering child’s life 2) not feeding the child peanuts will save his life and 3) proper nourishment, non violent behavior, and community support will enhance quality of life. (I agree this is a terrible analogy, but a few people said it clicked when I explained it this way 😐) Look @campaignzero ‘s website & @8cantwait proposal (your mayor can implement #8cantwait bans and requirements over the weekend if pressed i.e. require de-escalation, exhausting all alternatives before shooting). Call your mayor. Email your mayor! Tweet your mayor. Also for everyone sliding into my DMs with Romanian racial slurs, I am white and have benefited from being white in America. I stopped worrying about money because the American Dream afforded me that. How? Because it puts white bodies and youth on a pedestal. Me shying away from shame bc I was “a poor g**** immigrant” is denying world wide white privilege from being fully acknowledged thus lessened and ultimately terminated . andreeadiddy We’re moving at crab pace intentionally. And this is not just an American issue, although it’s heavily in pronounced here due to actual murders. It’s a world wide phenomenon! Just because in France or in Romania people of color don’t get killed monthly, think of all the ways they get slowed down on a day to day basis. From the judgmental looks they get in playgrounds to having to defend themselves from stereotypes, to being turned down in interviews because they are black and in the US to being scared of walking in their neighborhood because they might get shot. Or going grocery shopping. Or waiting for a friend (why the hell are there no loitering signs in nyc???). Or jogging. Or buying pizza! Or sleeping! What if this happened to you over your lifetime? And the lifetime of your family? And your ancestors? America has only ever been free for white people. The brave in America’s land of free and home of the brave are black and brown Folx.
Notice the guy saying “and brown people”. HE jumps at the OPPORTUNITY of being inclusive, or really, just human. Think about the opera (white music) where everyone stands in the theatre rigid and “moved” clapping at the end because they have to and just woke up Vs. All the other genres of music (non-white) there’s always call and response, dancing, rhythm, a choir. It’s inclusive. It’s participatory. A random example, but this extends to every aspect of your enriched life.
Prejudice is an extended emotional commitment to ignorance.
